ALGOR DesignCheck allows you to virtually test native or imported models from Alibre Design before going to production. By identifying problem areas up front, you can save time and money and make safer products. You can also substantially reduce costs and speed up time to market by testing variations of a design that use less material or have simpler and cheaper manufacturing processes while simultaneously ensuring the product will still deliver.

 

Ease of use
ALGOR DesignCheck is engineered to be simple to use by experienced or novice users. Initiate your DesignCheck session from within Alibre Design. From there, the process is straightforward: select the material, mesh the model, define forces and boundary conditions and press go. Built in tutorials walk you through each of these steps so you can get up to speed within minutes of opening the program. Some additional features to make your job easier include:
Direct CAD/CAE data exchange with Alibre Design for single parts
Intelligent, automatic, feature-based mesh refinement tools and point-and-click definition of areas where a finer mesh is desired
Right-click application, modification and deletion of surface forces, surface constraints and FEA properties

One-click meshing
ALGOR DesignCheck offers one-click meshing and refinement tools to make meshing your model easy. You can choose to make the mesh size percentage based or an absolute size and can easily tweak the options to get the proper mesh size for your analysis. Re-meshing the model uses the same process as the initial mesh creation, so you can easily change the mesh should you need to. Setting refinement points for the model makes it easy to automatically have a finer mesh in only the areas of the model that require it, ensuring that no time is wasted analyzing needlessly complex meshes.

Analysis Tools
ALGOR DesignCheck is used to determine von Mises stresses and general displacement due to forces in single parts with linear material models. With the ability to create multiple load scenarios, you can run "what-if" analyses to ensure your part can tolerate the range of forces it will encounter during use. When areas of the model are identified that cannot tolerate the stresses involved, you can quickly change the model in Alibre Design and test the changes to ensure they give the proper structural support. Analysis types include strain, stress, displacement, and shape deformation. You can also probe the results to find the min/max stress points on the model.

Reporting Tools
DesignCheck comes with several tools that make the job of communicating FEA analysis information easier and more efficient. Built-in tools for exporting movies of the analysis and generating automatic reports detailing the various load cases and other information make it easy for stakeholders to see and understand the analysis and the required action that is necessary. The report wizard allows you to select what components of the analysis you want to include and provides areas to input your own text, such as the Executive Summary section. Export the report to PDF, HTML, DOC, RTF, or DOCX formats.
